Fort George Suicide Squeeze

Brewery – Fort George
Beer – Suicide Squeeze
Style – IPA
ABV – 7.2%

Artfully cut like a 7” vinyl, *Special Edition pops with Mosaic, Amarillo, and Citra hops. Front loaded with organic 2-row barley and layered with deep cuts of specialty malt, Suicide Squeeze IPA presents the craft audience a balanced, full sensory experience.

This beer is collaboration between Seattle’s Suicide Squeeze Records (an independent record company that releases rock, pop, and metal music) and Fort George Brewing Company.  It’s a big, bold fruity IPA – and pretty amazing.

Seasonally released between March and June, if you can find this around you – it’s worth a pick up for sure, and not just for the really fun artwork featuring the colorful snake on a 16 ounce pint can.

The beer was first released in 2014, and has since been released in a really cool special edition, color changing can.  It’s just another move from Oregon’s Fort George that separates them from the crowd, much like their brewery that is located in the resurrected Fort George building in Astoria.

My Thoughts On Fort George Suicide Squeeze

Suicide Squeeze pours a hazy, slightly cloudy golden yellow color with a bright white, foamy head on top.

Aromas are fruity to say the least – the beer is packed full of citrus fruit and something that reminds me of a tropical breeze.  Mango maybe?

The taste is not overly bitter, but has a nice bracing bite that shifts into a solid malty balanced backbone.  The beer is well rounded and really nicely done.  It’s crisp and clean and leaves a light resiny pine note in the finish.
